The Sand Hill Trail runs from the parking area to Sea Lion Point Trail. From the trail, you can see Sand Hill Cove and Sea Lion Cover, along with Sea Lion Rocks. It provides a great vantage point for watching seals and their pups. Sometimes park docents have high-powered scopes at the top of the hill so you can see the seals and otters without having to trek all the way down to the beach level. If not, the trail to the beach is a short, but steep climb down a set of steps.
