Rags to Riches - Single flower, absolutely beautiful!

Rags to Riches - Carr, 1997,
M, Re, Ev, 28", 5.5", Tet

2008 Summary. Bud count 10. While the bud count was better than last year, it still seems low for a newer daylily. Didn't even have more scapes this year after three doses of fertilizer. This one is going on the Watch List.

2007 Summary. Bud count 6. Couldn't believe how poorly this one did this year. It obviously requires much more feeding and care than most of the older ones. Will feed it heavily this fall and next spring, and if it doesn't make a comeback, it will be on the watch list.

2006 Summary.  Bud count was 10 - 11, but a LOT of scapes, average foliage. Colors much more intense this year, fades nicely in the sun, tolerates heat well. Made our personal Top 10.

2005 Summary. Bud count 8 - 15. First year, and it has been really fun to watch. Opens easily in cool weather, but the color varies with the weather.

5-31-05. Really love this one. Big, ruffled flowers that open well even in cool weather. One of my favorite new daylilies blooming this year. The weather has warmed up, and the flower is considerably darker than the first flowers were. This looks like it's going to be another one of those that jumps in front of the camera at the drop of a hat.
